The highly anticipated first trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film, One Battle After Another, has officially been released. This gripping narrative follows the character Bob Ferguson, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio, a struggling former revolutionary in search of his missing daughter. The trailer also showcases performances from Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro, and Sean Penn, complemented by Jonny Greenwood’s evocative score.
Scheduled for release in theaters on Friday, September 26, One Battle After Another marks Anderson’s return after his acclaimed 2021 film, Licorice Pizza. Continuing his collaboration with talented newcomers, the film features Alana Haim, along with Shayna McHayle, known as Junglepussy, Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti, and Wood Harris in pivotal roles.
Anderson penned the script for One Battle After Another, drawing inspiration from Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland. Shot on 35-millimeter film with VistaVision cameras, the production primarily took place in California and Texas.
In a recent interview, Greenwood shared insights into his long-standing creative partnership with Anderson, which began with the Oscar-winning film There Will Be Blood. “I’m incredibly fortunate that Paul allows me the freedom to experiment and compose,” Greenwood stated, highlighting the rarity of such creative liberty in Hollywood.
