Best-performing civil servants in Akwa Ibom State are set to be awarded ₦1 million each as Governor Umo Eno hosts the ARISE Happy Hour and Evening of Rewards on Thursday.
This announcement was made by the Chairman of the Organising Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah. The recipients of the awards were nominated during the December 2024 Ministerial Briefings, a recognition of their commitment and excellence in service.
The event will feature a live performance by a renowned musician and will also honor the top-performing local government areas from the Christmas Unplugged 2024 event.
Uwah emphasized that the celebration reflects the state government’s dedication to rewarding excellence and empowering its citizens. The statement highlighted, “The governor will honor and reward individuals and groups who have excelled in their respective fields, with particular emphasis on female youths, who are seen as vital supporters in the state’s initiatives.”
Notable features of the event include a ₦300 million disbursal to 400 trained female youths under the Ibom LED Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program, with each beneficiary receiving ₦750,000. The top local government areas from Christmas Unplugged 2024 will also be acknowledged and rewarded.
Additionally, 50 winners of the Arise Home Farmers Scheme will each receive a ₦500,000 grant, and the best civil servants across all ministries, departments, and agencies nominated at the December Ministerial Briefings will be recognized with a ₦1 million award for their dedication and excellence. Outstanding athletes from the 2024 Governor’s Cup will also be celebrated during this significant event.
