ECNETNews is excited to announce the upcoming reissue of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ iconic 1982 album, Long After Dark, which is set to be released on October 18. This remastered edition features 12 bonus tracks, including seven that have never been released before. In addition, the Petty Legacy archives will unveil a collection of previously unearthed songs and videos from 1982-83 in the weeks leading up to the release. The first release includes a 1982 performance of “Straight Into Darkness,” filmed for French television.
The bonus tracks include some selections that Petty had hoped to include in the original album. He expressed, “There was some music recorded for Long After Dark that didn’t make it onto the record, which I believed would have enhanced the album.” According to Petty, several favorites were left off, reflecting his ongoing commitment to artistic expression.
