The White Stripes have launched a lawsuit against former President Donald J. Trump for the unauthorized use of their iconic 2003 track “Seven Nation Army” in a recent campaign video. The lawsuit, filed in a New York federal court, names both Meg and Jack White as co-plaintiffs and alleges six counts of copyright infringement.
According to the lawsuit, Trump’s campaign has “chosen to ignore and not respond to Plaintiffs’ pre-litigation efforts to resolve the matters at issue,” and has “indiscriminately trampled on Plaintiffs’ legal rights.” The complaint further emphasizes that the White Stripes “vehemently oppose the policies adopted and actions taken by Defendant Trump” during his presidency and those he promotes for a potential second term.
This legal action fulfills Jack White’s previous commitment to pursue legal remedies against Trump. In a recent statement, White expressed his stance against what he describes as fascism within the political arena. The case continues to draw significant attention, highlighting the intersection of music and politics in campaign activities.
