Zelda enthusiasts can now purchase the highly anticipated Great Deku Tree Lego set from major retailers. Originally launched in September as a Lego Store exclusive, this 2,500-piece building set, the first of its kind based on The Legend of Zelda franchise, is now available at leading retailers. Fans can construct the Great Deku Tree as depicted in either Breath of the Wild or Ocarina of Time.
Currently priced at $300, the Great Deku Tree Lego set is experiencing backorder issues from the Lego Store, with a shipping delay of up to two months. However, major retailers are reporting that they have the set in stock and ready to ship immediately. Notably, members of My Best Buy Plus can enjoy a 10% discount, reducing the price to $270. The My Best Buy Plus membership costs $50 per year, ensuring new members recoup a portion of that fee with their first purchase.
The Great Deku Tree set includes four minifigures—two from each game. The Ocarina of Time side features Young Link equipped with his Deku Shield and Kokiri Sword, alongside Link with his magical ocarina. The Breath of the Wild side includes Link and Princess Zelda, with Link holding a sword and the Traveler’s Shield, while Zelda comes with a Sheikah Slate. Additional characters include Koroks, Deku Babas, a Deku Sprout, Navi the Fairy, a Skulltula, and Hestu, who is featured shaking maracas.
One fascinating feature of the set is the animated face of the Great Deku Tree in the Breath of the Wild version, which can be operated with a lever, while the Ocarina of Time version has an opening mouth revealing a Skulltula monster. The set recreates the moment Link retrieves the Master Sword in the Lost Woods, and it allows the Master Sword to be removed from its pedestal.
In comparison to other Nintendo-themed Lego models, the Great Deku Tree belongs to Lego’s display model series, making it recommended for experienced builders due to its complexity and an abundance of smaller pieces. With the Great Deku Tree set, collectors may find a unique display piece that pays homage to a beloved video game series.
In addition to the Great Deku Tree, Lego has released over 100 new sets, including those in the Mario Kart series and other playsets inspired by popular franchises such as Animal Crossing and Sonic the Hedgehog. This expanding lineup further enhances Lego’s offerings for video game enthusiasts.
