The Sokoto State Government is taking decisive action to combat vandalism in schools, ensuring the preservation of educational facilities throughout the region.
During an unplanned visit to Marafa Danbaba Model Primary School in Sokoto South Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board highlighted the government’s dedication to maintaining quality education.
In a statement from the board, the chairman reaffirmed that anyone found damaging school property will face serious legal repercussions. He underscored the government’s commitment to protecting educational infrastructure, stating, “We are determined to ensure a conducive learning environment in every part of the state.”
Additionally, the chairman announced plans to enhance security measures, provide access to clean water, and upgrade the primary school to a junior secondary school in the near future. He noted that the board has already taken steps to construct new classrooms and toilet facilities as part of ongoing efforts to improve educational standards under the leadership of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.
The visit aimed to evaluate the current conditions of the school, with accompanying board members and principals also present to assess the situation. This commitment to educational improvement marks a significant step forward in bolstering the quality of education in Sokoto State.
