Security personnel at Sunjwan Army Camp in Jammu
In a developing situation, an alert was initiated and an anti-militancy operation commenced on Monday, September 2, 2024, in Jammu following reports of gunfire near the Sunjwan Army Camp. Initial reports indicate that one soldier sustained injuries during the incident.
According to official sources, gunshots were detected near the camp between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m., prompting immediate action from the 36 Infantry Brigade’s sentry post.
Witnesses reported that attackers opened fire at the post, leading to a swift retaliation by security forces. The confrontation was brief, and firing ceased shortly after the initial exchange, according to officials.
