SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Authorities in Puerto Rico are actively searching for a U.S. tourist reported missing in the dense tropical rain forest of El Yunque.
According to police, Abdur Rahman, 64, was hiking with a group when he became separated on Sunday. Search efforts resumed on Monday for Rahman, who is a resident of Wisconsin.
El Yunque is a well-known tourist destination and the only tropical rain forest managed by the U.S. Forest Service.
In a related incident, a U.S. tourist tragically died last year after falling off a cliff while venturing outside designated hiking areas.
