Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has positioned Lagos as a leader in progress and innovation, unveiling an ambitious vision for the city in 2025.
In a New Year address to the people of Lagos, the governor highlighted the city’s resilience, unity, and determination that characterized 2024, a transformative year for the state.
“As we enter 2025, I reflect on the resilience, innovation, and unity that marked our journey through the last year. Together, we faced challenges head-on, achieved significant milestones, and set new standards for excellence in governance, infrastructure, and social development,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
He underscored key achievements for 2024, including the landmark launch of the Red Line Rail and the expansion of Blue Line operations, alongside advancements in health, education, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Sanwo-Olu acknowledged that these successes were made possible through a strong partnership between leadership and the citizens. “We became a beacon for progress and a testament to what can be accomplished when leaders and the community work in harmony,” he declared.
The governor reaffirmed his dedication to cultivating a ‘Greater Lagos’ that serves everyone, outlining a focus on sustainable infrastructure, economic growth, and enhanced community engagement through innovative programs.
“This year, our mission remains clear: to create a Greater Lagos that benefits all. We will prioritize sustainable infrastructure, stimulate economic growth, and bolster community impact with forward-thinking initiatives.
“The future of Lagos is bold, inclusive, and without limits. It’s more than a city; it symbolizes energy, movement, and hope. In 2025, we are committed to continuing our leadership, inspiring change, and fulfilling the expectations you have entrusted to us. Together, we will craft the next extraordinary chapter in our journey,” he concluded.
