Demonstrators were seen engaging in various activities, including kicking a ball, following the controversial appointment of Mikheil Kavelashvili, a former football player, as Georgia’s next president.
The protests were ignited by the ruling Georgian Dream party’s recent announcement to suspend the nation’s EU accession talks until 2028. The unrest has resulted in hundreds of detentions nationwide, with reports of injuries among journalists caused by security forces.
