There was jubilation at the historical palace of the Alaafin of Oyo as Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde officially announced Prince Abimbola Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo.
The momentous announcement took place on Friday, as confirmed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade. He revealed that Owoade was chosen after thorough consultations and traditional divinations by the Oyo kingmakers, known as the Oyomesi.
The joyous atmosphere was captured in a video showcasing people dancing, accompanied by traditional drumming, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Oyo Kingdom.
