Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention on Thursday, January 9, 2025. This prominent biennial event celebrates the invaluable contributions of the Indian diaspora to their nation.
The theme for this year focuses on the “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat”, highlighting the importance of global Indians in India’s growth journey.
The event, organized collaboratively by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Odisha government, runs from January 8 to January 10. It commenced on Wednesday, where External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar encouraged Non-Resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin to engage actively in shaping a ‘viksit Bharat’.
Mr. Jaishankar emphasized the significant role of the young diaspora in enhancing India’s global perception and reiterated the country’s commitment towards achieving a ‘viksit Bharat’.
