The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 30-year-old suspect, Daniel Onyejekwe, in relation to the murder of Christian Goodluck in Sapele on New Year’s Day. This information was revealed in a statement by the police.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred when Onyejekwe witnessed Goodluck arguing with and assaulting his mother. In an effort to intervene, a confrontation escalated into a violent altercation between the two men.
During the struggle, both parties reportedly wielded a broken bottle, with Onyejekwe allegedly stabbing Goodluck, inflicting injuries that ultimately led to his demise.
The police statement emphasized the importance of maintaining composure, stating, “In this year 2025, please control your temper. Daniel Onyejekwe, aged 30, was involved in the tragic incident where he fatally wounded Christian Goodluck on January 1, 2025, after intervening in a dispute involving his mother. They fought with a broken bottle, which resulted in the deceased’s death. What a way to start the new year.”
