The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended a cleric known as Elijah on allegations of homosexuality. Elijah, who serves as the General Overseer of a new-generation church in Port Harcourt, was reportedly arrested following the emergence of a leaked video depicting him in a compromising situation.
According to sources, the pastor’s issues began when a male acquaintance, allegedly targeted by Elijah’s advances, secretly recorded their interaction and subsequently released the footage. Authorities have not disclosed how the police obtained the video, but the Octopus Strike Force of the Rivers State Police Command began monitoring the pastor. Acting on credible intelligence, officers tracked him to one of his frequented locations before making the arrest.
During questioning, the cleric reportedly admitted to engaging in similar activities with both adults and minors in and around Port Harcourt.
A spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command confirmed the arrest, noting that Elijah has been formally charged in court. Investigations are currently ongoing as authorities delve deeper into the matter.
