Neil Young Debuts New Track "Big Change" with Chrome Hearts
In an electrifying announcement, Neil Young has unveiled his latest single, "Big Change," a track described as "loud, irreverent rock’n’roll paint splatter" reminiscent of a Jackson Pollack masterpiece. This collaboration with the Chrome Hearts marks a significant moment in Young’s storied career.
Young’s collaboration with Chrome Hearts—featuring guitarist Micah Nelson, bassist Corey McCormick, drummer Anthony Logerfo, and organist Spooner Oldham—was previously highlighted when the band announced their upcoming live performance slated for Glastonbury this summer. The new song was produced by Lou Adler and recorded at the renowned Shangri-La studio, known for its association with legendary producer Rick Rubin.
Micah Nelson, Corey McCormick, and Anthony Logerfo are well-known members of the band Promise of the Real, with whom Young has previously worked on notable projects including The Monsanto Years and The Visitor. Spooner Oldham has a rich history with Young’s discography, contributing to classic albums such as Harvest Moon and Silver & Gold.
Last year, Young released his most recent studio album, World Record, in collaboration with Crazy Horse, followed by the posthumous release of his 1970s album, Chrome Dreams. With "Big Change," Young continues to demonstrate his musical evolution and commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
