Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, announced the tragic passing of his son, Abdulwahab, and mother, Hajiya Maryam, just days after his daughter’s wedding. The governor’s son died in a road accident shortly after his mother’s death due to illness.
In a show of solidarity, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, led a delegation to Kafin Hausa town in Jigawa State to express condolences to Governor Namadi. During the visit, Namadi expressed his gratitude to Yahaya for his unwavering support during both joyful and challenging times, recalling Yahaya’s presence at his daughter’s wedding just a week prior.
Namadi stated, “Your Excellency, just a week ago, you were in Jigawa State for my daughter’s wedding, and now you are here again to offer your sympathies for the tragic losses of our mother and son. This demonstrates your love for us and exceptional leadership style. We cannot thank you enough.”
Governor Yahaya encouraged Namadi to find comfort in his faith, acknowledging the immense challenges he faces. “What Allah takes belongs to Him, and what He gives is also His, for everything occurs at its appointed time according to His will,” Yahaya remarked. He urged Namadi to remain strong in the face of adversity and extend his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and the Government of Gombe State, praying for the forgiveness and eternal peace of the departed souls.
