Musician Zachary Cole Smith, who had to flee with his pregnant wife and two-year-old son, has initiated a fundraising campaign after losing his home, car, musical equipment, and cherished belongings in the blaze.
Indie rapper Fat Tony is also appealing for support after his Altadena residence was destroyed along with all of his possessions. Expressing solidarity, he highlighted the widespread suffering in the community and mentioned his intention to donate any surplus contributions to local animal welfare organizations.
Additionally, musician Tim Darcy and his wife, Amy Fort, are raising funds after their home was completely lost in the Eaton Fire. The couple’s plight has drawn attention and support through their fundraising efforts, emphasizing the dire circumstances faced by many.
Other artists, including Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz and Sad13, have organized resources to assist those in the music industry who have also lost their homes due to the fires, circulating a compilation of fundraising links for affected individuals.
Amidst these challenging times, several artists have managed to evacuate safely, including Grimes and Kid Cudi, the latter of whom shared a heartfelt message urging everyone to prioritize their safety while extending support to those in need. He expressed deep empathy for those affected, saying, “My heart hurts for you, and I send all my love to you and yours.”
Photay reported his escape from the flames but confirmed that his home was completely destroyed, a situation echoed by Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith and his wife, who narrowly avoided the devastation. Veteran songwriter Diane Warren also shared the loss of her beachfront home of three decades. The impact of the fires reached Harbor Studios, known for its recent projects, prompting founder Zach Brandon to announce plans for rebuilding.
