In a fresh artistic interpretation, classic characters Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing have been updated to align with Marvel Rivals’ unique style. Notably, Mr. Fantastic appears younger and more muscular than traditional portrayals. Additionally, the highly regarded helper robot, H.E.R.B.I.E., appears in the promo art, sparking speculation about his potential as a playable character, much like Jeff the Land Shark.
The revitalized focus on the Fantastic Four is timely, as 2025 marks their highly anticipated return to theaters, a decade after the controversial 2015 reboot. The upcoming film, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” will introduce the team to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following previous alternate versions of Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Deadpool and Wolverine.”
