Mark Hoppus, the iconic singer-bassist and co-founder of Blink-182, has revealed exciting news regarding his upcoming memoir titled Fahrenheit-182. Co-authored with Dan Ozzi, this highly anticipated book is set to be released on April 8, 2025, through Dey Street Books. In a humorous infomercial-style announcement, Hoppus teased that the memoir will explore themes of skateboarding, ’90s music, and band tumult, alongside his personal journey of battling cancer, which he successfully confronted through chemotherapy.
The memoir captures the essence of Hoppus’s life, detailing his transformation from an angst-ridden youth in the desert to a rock musician navigating identity shifts, friendships, and challenges. "This is a story of what happens when a kid experiences his parents’ bitter divorce while moving around the country and evolving from dork to goth to skate punk," he described. The narrative also weaves in the universal struggles of anxiety and Hoppus’s inspiring triumph over cancer, offering relatable insights for readers who have faced their own hurdles.
Hoppus joins fellow Blink-182 member Travis Barker, who published his memoir Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums in 2016. Tom DeLonge, another bandmate, also contributed to the literary scene this past June with his sci-fi novel. This marks Ozzi’s second collaboration on a memoir, following his earlier work with Laura Jane Grace.
In other news, Blink-182 recently launched an expanded edition of One More Time…, their reunion album featuring the classic lineup, further solidifying their lasting impact on the music scene. Stay tuned for this and more updates as Hoppus gears up for the release of Fahrenheit-182, a memoir that promises to resonate with fans and newcomers alike.
