Smile 2 has officially hit theaters as of Friday, October 18, and preorders for its upcoming Blu-ray release are already available at various retailers. Although a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, multiple editions of Smile 2 have been unveiled, including an enticing limited-edition steelbook version.
Smile 2 Limited-Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray
Price: $45
This two-disc edition of Smile 2 features the film in 4K UHD, standard Blu-ray, and digital download formats. While bonus features remain unannounced, the edition will include a unique steelbook case with exclusive cover and interior art.
Preorders can be made at various retailers, with different pricing options. Currently, the 4K steelbook edition is priced at $45, but other retailers may offer competitive pricing as the release approaches, ensuring customers benefit from the lowest price guarantee.
In addition to the steelbook edition, non-steelbook 4K Blu-ray and DVD versions of Smile 2 are also set to be made available for preorder.
Like its predecessor, Smile 2 continues the horror narrative of individuals haunted by unsettling hallucinations of smiles that only they can see, ultimately leading to their demise. This sequel introduces a new lead character, pop singer Skye Riley, who unknowingly inherits the curse right before embarking on her tour.
For those unfamiliar with the story’s origins, the first Smile film is also available in several Blu-ray editions, including a two-disc steelbook edition for $39. This edition of the original film features both 4K and standard Blu-ray formats and includes the short film "Laura Hasn’t Slept." Special features include:
- Commentary by Director Parker Finn
- "Something’s Wrong With Rose: Making Smile" featurette
- "Flies On The Wall: Inside The Score" featurette
- Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Parker Finn
The steelbook edition represents an excellent opportunity to catch up on the series before Smile 2 makes its Blu-ray debut. For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, standard Blu-ray versions of the first film are also available.
Horror enthusiasts should also keep an eye on preorders for Terrifier 3, which has also recently premiered in theaters and is set for a Blu-ray release on December 17. The anticipated slasher film will be offered in multiple versions, including a 4K collector’s edition.
