The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed profound grief over the passing of Alhaji Mahe AbdulKadir, the Chief of Staff to the Kwara State Governor. In a statement released on Saturday, Sulu-Gambari conveyed his shock, stating, “Inna lillahi Waina Roooojihun, I receive the demise of Prince Mahe AbdulKadir with rude shock and surprise.”
Sulu-Gambari recognized Mahe as “a diligent administrator and committed Prince of the Alimi dynasty,” noting that his death represents a significant loss for the Ilorin Emirate. The Emir extended his condolences to the deceased’s wife, children, the government, and the people of Kwara State, as well as personally to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the entire Shehu Alimi dynasty.
He also offered prayers for the departed, asking that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him entrance into Al-janatul firdaos.
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, also shared his sorrow regarding the loss of Prince Abdulkadir Mahe. In a statement from the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, he expressed, “With total submission to the will of Allah, we mourn the death of our father; Prince Abdulkadir Mahe, a distinguished public servant and an administrator par-excellence.”
He highlighted Mahe’s significant contributions to both legislative and executive branches of government, stating, “This is truly a great loss to us all.” Furthermore, the Speaker extended heartfelt sympathies to the Emir of Ilorin, the Abdulkadir family, and the Emirate, while praying for comfort for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during this difficult time. On behalf of the Kwara State House of Assembly, he also prayed for the late Prince Abdulkadir Mahe, asking Allah to grant him Al-janatul firdaos.
