ECNETNews is excited to report that Jenny Hval has unveiled a North American tour in support of her highly anticipated upcoming album, Iris Silver Mist, along with the release of a new single. Titled “The Artist Is Absent,” this track is available in two versions: the studio version and an extended mix named “89 Seconds Rewrite.” An accompanying video for the extended mix showcases Hval and her collaborator Orfee Schuijt.
Following her spring European tour, Hval will kick off her North American leg in Los Angeles on September 5. From there, she will perform in San Francisco, Portland, Vancouver, Chicago, and Toronto, culminating in a final show in Brooklyn. Fans can find the complete list of her tour dates below.
Scheduled for release on May 2, Iris Silver Mist is named after a fragrance by Maurice Roucel and serves as a follow-up to her 2022 album, Classic Objects. The lead single, “To Be a Rose,” has also been accompanied by a visually captivating video. Many tracks on the new album were developed and rehearsed in live settings throughout 2024, a process that Hval believes highlights “the physical and live elements of music.”
