Chelsea is poised to secure a permanent deal for Jadon Sancho this summer, despite the possibility of a get-out clause in his current arrangement with Manchester United. Should Chelsea decide to bypass the £25 million obligation associated with his ongoing loan, they would incur a £5 million penalty to Manchester United.
With uncertainty surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk’s future at the club, Chelsea is in the market for a new winger. Mudryk was provisionally suspended by the FA in December after testing positive for a banned substance, adding to speculation about his position within the team.
Sancho made an impressive start to his loan at Chelsea, providing three assists in his first three Premier League matches. However, his performance has recently diminished, with the 24-year-old not contributing a goal involvement since January 4 and managing only one shot on target since Boxing Day.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca previously expressed confidence in Sancho’s abilities, stating, “For me, he’s doing very well. I am quite surprised with Jadon, because I knew him already from seeing him at his previous clubs, and while I had expectations, he’s been consistent.”
Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in the summer of 2021 but departed Old Trafford following a disagreement with former manager Erik ten Hag. Chelsea fans are eager to see how Sancho’s future with the club unfolds as the summer transfer window approaches.
