India Responds Strongly to Pakistan’s Repeated Claims on Jammu and Kashmir at UN Debate
In a robust statement during a United Nations debate on peacekeeping reforms, India has firmly countered Pakistan’s recurrent references to the Jammu and Kashmir issue. India’s Permanent Representative at the UN emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is “an integral part of India.”
The Indian envoy characterized Pakistan’s comments as “unwarranted,” reiterating that such remarks do not validate their claims or justify state-sponsored cross-border terrorism. He underscored that Pakistan’s ongoing occupation of parts of Jammu and Kashmir is both illegal and unacceptable.
India’s representative stated, “Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always be an integral part of India,” urging Pakistan to vacate the territory it occupies. He advised that Pakistan should not attempt to divert attention from this forum to further its disruptive agenda, while also indicating that India would keep its response measured for the moment.
This exchange highlights the continuing tensions surrounding the Jammu and Kashmir region, a pivotal point of international discourse.
