The Federal Government has initiated an investigation into the quality of food provided to students attending Federal Unity Colleges.
A press statement from the Ministry of Education confirmed that two principals have been recalled as part of the inquiry. With over 100 unity schools across Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory, this investigation aims to uphold the welfare of students.
The Ministry recently conducted inspections, revealing that two colleges offered meals failing to meet established standards. Consequently, the principals from these institutions have been summoned to the ministry’s headquarters for further scrutiny.
To enforce compliance with nutritional standards and enhance student welfare, senior officials have been assigned to monitor these colleges during the ongoing investigation. Additionally, a nationwide assessment is being launched to evaluate the food quality and pastoral care provided in all Federal Unity Colleges.
The Federal Ministry of Education remains committed to maintaining high standards, ensuring that students receive adequate nourishment and support essential for their academic success and personal growth.
