Country music icon Dwight Yoakam is set to release his highly anticipated new single “I Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye (Bang Bang Boom Boom)” featuring Post Malone, marking Yoakam’s first new music in nearly a decade. The track will be part of his upcoming studio album, Brighter Days, scheduled for release on November 15. Yoakam specifically penned the song for this collaboration with Malone, who has recently explored country sounds in his latest LP.
Brighter Days represents Yoakam’s first full-length project since his 2016 album, Swimmin’ Pools, Movie Stars…. This 12-track album includes 10 original compositions, alongside unique covers of “Bound Away” by Cake and the classic “Keeping on the Sunny Side” by the Carter Family.
Earlier this year, Yoakam and Malone showcased their talent together on stage at the Stagecoach music festival. The two artists also shared musical moments in Los Angeles, performing beloved songs such as Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and Yoakam’s own “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere.”
