Fighting games are often criticized for their storytelling, but the Injustice series stands out as a notable exception. Set in an alternate DC Comics universe, Injustice has captivated players with its compelling narratives across two games and a dedicated comic book line. Fans can look forward to the release of the Injustice 2 Omnibus Edition on May 20, which will be available for preorder for $125.
Written by Tom Taylor, known for his work on the acclaimed Injustice: Gods Among Us comic books, the Injustice 2 comics continue the saga shortly after the events of the first game. With the villainous alternate-universe Superman imprisoned in a super-jail, Batman embarks on a mission to restore the world after five years of chaos under Superman’s regime. As new threats emerge, Earth’s heroes must unite once more to defend humanity. The omnibus will encompass Injustice 2 issues 1-36 and Annuals 1 and 2.
In addition to the upcoming omnibus, readers can find the original Injustice: Gods Among Us Omnibus Edition Volume One available for an impressive $50 (originally $125). This volume details the first three years of the series, showcasing Superman’s tragic fall after a devastating encounter with the Joker, which leads to the destruction of Metropolis and the death of his family. Batman quickly assumes leadership of the resistance against his former ally.
A second hardcover volume is also available, chronicling the intense conflict as Batman employs increasingly desperate strategies against Superman and his array of supervillains, currently priced at $66.24 (down from $125).
For those interested in a quick read, Injustice: Year Zero is on sale for $20 (was $25). This 152-page graphic novel explores the Justice Society of America, the counterpart to the Justice League in the Injustice Universe.
