K.T. Rama Rao, working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has taken a strong stance against what he describes as ‘baseless allegations and cowardly personal attacks’ on his character by political adversaries. He announced a ₹100 crore defamation lawsuit against Minister Konda Surekha, citing her disparaging remarks as indicative of a culture of cheap rhetoric that must be challenged.
In his remarks on Tuesday, Rao expressed his frustration over ongoing personal attacks and smear campaigns that have often gone unchallenged. He emphasized that such behavior will no longer be tolerated, reinforcing his commitment to prioritizing the public’s interests over political vendettas.
Police Complaint Filed
Simultaneously, a contingent of BRS leaders has lodged a formal complaint with the Banjara Hills police, accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of making threatening statements against former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, and former minister T. Harish Rao. The complaint asserts that Reddy’s comments are inciting violence and creating a climate of fear among party leaders.
Among those who signed the complaint are Nomula Bhagath, Errolla Srinivas, and Gellu Srinivas Yadav, all of whom highlighted concerns over safety due to recent attacks during public appearances. They emphasized that such rhetoric endangers the security of BRS leadership and cannot be overlooked.
