Speaking during a recent visit by a delegation from the Nigeria Customs Liaison Office in Cotonou, Benin Republic, Adelaja highlighted the importance of strengthening cross-border relations. He noted that this visit aligns with the strategic objectives of the Comptroller-General of Customs, which focus on collaboration, consolidation, and innovation.
In an official statement concerning the visit, Adelaja extended full support from his command to facilitate the duties of the delegation and encouraged enhanced cooperation through improved intelligence sharing. He stressed the necessity of such collaboration to effectively address smuggling activities within their jurisdiction.

The Chief Superintendent of Customs, O.M.
