Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited has unveiled plans to partner with the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) to enhance support for women and families through innovative empowerment initiatives.
During a recent visit from a 13-member delegation of the Ogun State chapter of POWA, CEO of Pelican Valley, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. The delegation was led by Chairperson Rev. Mrs. Olubusola Ogunlowo at the Pelican Valley Estate in Laderin, Abeokuta.
Adeyemo praised POWA’s leadership for its impactful programs designed to uplift the lives of police officers’ wives and children. He specifically recognized the commitment of Deaconess Elizabeth Egbetokun, President of POWA and wife of the Inspector-General of Police, to the welfare of police widows and orphans.
During his address, Adeyemo remarked, “It is our honor to host such a remarkable group of women driving change in their communities. Your dedication to improving the lives of police families is truly inspiring.”
Reflecting on his longstanding relationship with POWA, Adeyemo noted his history of covering the association’s activities two decades ago. He applauded Rev. Ogunlowo for fostering strategic partnerships that can lead to significant societal improvements.
Highlighting Pelican Valley’s commitment to social responsibility, Adeyemo pointed out the company’s integrity-driven approach to service. Through its Oko Opo Foundation, Pelican Valley has actively supported widows, children, and other disadvantaged groups.
He recalled previous contributions to the Nigeria Police, including donations of educational materials to the Police Children’s School and infrastructural support to the Ogun State Police Command. He emphasized, “A secure environment is crucial for community prosperity, and our ongoing support for the Nigeria Police underscores our commitment to community development.”
In response, Rev. Ogunlowo commended Adeyemo for his integrity and support for widows and less privileged individuals. She encouraged him to continue using his influential platform to effect positive change.
“A lot of people in real estate overlook integrity, but you stand out. When given a platform, it is essential to use it for good,” she stated.
Both Pelican Valley and POWA expressed their eagerness to explore further collaborations aimed at empowering women and families, highlighting the importance of united efforts in building stronger communities.
