Childish Gambino has announced the postponement of the remaining North American dates of his highly anticipated New World Tour. In a recent statement on social media, he expressed, “Unfortunately, I have to postpone the rest of the North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks. Please hold onto your tickets, as ALL tickets will be honored for the upcoming dates in North America when they are rescheduled. Thank you for your privacy, support, and love.”
The tour kicked off in Oklahoma City on August 11, but after just two weeks, Gambino faced challenges, including a cancellation of a show in Connecticut due to production issues. Most recently, he had to call off a concert in Houston last night due to illness. In total, the health concerns have affected 16 performances across his tour schedule.
Gambino initially announced the New World Tour in May, coinciding with the release of his “final” album, Bando Stone and the New World. The North American leg featured prominent support from Willow.
Looking ahead, Gambino had plans to commence his European shows, with support from Amaarae, starting on October 31. Further details regarding the rescheduled North American dates are awaited.
