Brian Harman bounced back from a rocky beginning to finish the third round of the Texas Open with an even-par 72, maintaining a three-stroke lead. Despite entering the day with a four-shot advantage, the American golfer encountered some challenges, while challengers failed to close the gap.
In second place, Andrew Novak secured a score of 69, bringing his total to nine under. Tom Hoge followed closely in third, posting a 68 to reach eight under, while Kevin Mitchell’s 73 landed him fourth at seven under.
Chad Ramey (70), Finland’s Sami Valimaki (70), and Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune (73) are tied for fifth place.
Harman experienced two bogeys within the first four holes but regained his momentum with birdies on Nos. 14 and 17. He faced late-round difficulties, including a scramble for par on the par-3 16th after his tee shot found the fringe rough.
Canada’s Corey Conners, a two-time tournament champion, briefly moved into contention before a problematic stretch left him struggling. After chipping in for eagle on No. 17, Conners dropped back with three over on his final two holes, culminating in a double-bogey six on No. 9.
