In an exciting announcement, Billy Corgan is set to embark on a new solo project and North American tour this June. Corgan, along with the Machines of God, will perform iconic tracks from classic Smashing Pumpkins albums including the celebrated Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music (both from 2000), as well as his latest release, Aghori Mhori Mei. This tour coincides with significant anniversaries: the 30th of Mellon Collie and the 25th of both Machina albums. The A Return to Zero tour kicks off in Baltimore on June 7 and will include stops in cities like Boston, Toronto, New York, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and more, culminating in Minneapolis on June 29. Full tour itinerary details are available below.
Corgan’s backing band will feature the recently added Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Kiki Wong, drummer Jake Hayden, and bassist Kid Tigrrr. In addition to the live performances with the Machines of God, Corgan is collaborating with Chicago’s Lyric Opera for the world premiere of A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness, a seven-part series slated for November 21-30.
The Smashing Pumpkins also announced newly remixed and remastered versions of Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music. Fans can look forward to an extensive 80-song box set available exclusively at Corgan’s Highland Park café, featuring a 48-track Machina and an additional 32 bonus tracks comprising demos, outtakes, and live recordings.
