In a shocking incident in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a bride eloped with her boyfriend on the day of her wedding reception. The groom and his family reported the situation to the police, who have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Initially perceived as a kidnapping, the case took a turn when authorities discovered that the bride, Roshni Solanki, had left voluntarily with her boyfriend, Ankit. The Station House Officer confirmed that Roshni had been in a five-year relationship with Ankit, a fact known to her family, which had caused tensions between both families.
Roshni was recently married to Ashish Rajak in Ganjbasoda, with plans to celebrate a reception upon returning to Bhopal. On the day of the reception, while en route to the venue after a beauty appointment, a confrontation occurred as Roshni and Ashish’s sister exited the car. A car pulled up, a male assailant pushed Ashish’s sister aside, and Roshni was taken away.
ELICITING SUSPICION: THE ELopement
The police later found that Roshni’s escape had been premeditated. Her marriage to Ashish had been arranged despite her ongoing relationship with Ankit, leading to her decision to elope. Following the event, Ashish filed a formal complaint alleging that someone had sabotaged the vehicle intended for their return, thus necessitating their use of a wedding procession bus for the journey home.
Authorities have registered a case and launched a manhunt to locate Roshni and Ankit, both of whom remain at large. The investigation is ongoing as police work to gather more information regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
