The highly anticipated first trailer for Tron: Ares has officially debuted.
Set to be the exciting third chapter in Disney’s iconic Tron saga, Tron: Ares is directed by Joachim Rønning and is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on October 10, 2025.

The trailer introduces audiences to Jared Leto as Ares, an artificial being dispatched from the digital realm on a perilous mission. Evan Peters portrays the antagonist, Julian Dillinger, while Jeff Bridges makes a return as Kevin Flynn.
Joining the cast are talents such as Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Hasan Minhaj, Gillian Anderson, and Sarah Desjardins.
The screenplay for Tron: Ares is crafted by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, with Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Steven Lisberger producing the film. Executive production is handled by Russell Allen.
The original Tron franchise kicked off in 1982, created by Steven Lisberger, who wrote and directed the first groundbreaking film featuring Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, and David Warner. The sequel, Tron: Legacy, followed in 2010 under the direction of Joseph Kosinski, bringing back Bridges alongside Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde.
Both installments have garnered Academy Award nominations: the original received nods for Best Costume Design and Best Sound, while Tron: Legacy earned a nomination for Best Sound Editing.
Additionally, the animated series Tron: Uprising premiered on Disney XD in May 2012, airing for 19 episodes and featuring a voice cast that includes Boxleitner and Elijah Wood.
Tron: Ares is set to grace U.S. theaters this October, with previous installments Tron, Tron: Legacy, and Tron: Uprising currently available for streaming.
