A tragic incident occurred in Khon Kaen as a man reportedly shot his ex-wife, her mother, and a teenage relative before taking his own life, leaving his two-year-old daughter in shock. The shootings took place in the Mancha Khiri district on Saturday morning, with the authorities informed around 11:30 AM.
First responders discovered the bodies inside a residence in Khampom village. Jaruayporn Faengrit, 50, was found deceased on a bed with gunshot wounds, while her daughter, Khalita Faengrit, 28, was found lifeless with gunshot wounds to her head. Noppadol Unthasee, 55, the ex-husband of Khalita, was also found dead, along with Phonphiphat Thongyot, 18, who had two gunshot wounds and was discovered in the bathroom.
The couple’s two-year-old daughter was found trembling and in shock near her mother. She was promptly removed from the scene for care and support.
The grandmother of Khalita, Orn Faengrit, revealed that the house belonged to Phonphiphat’s mother, who was away working in Bangkok. The family had been struggling with a history of domestic violence, as Khalita had reportedly endured physical assaults from Noppadol. Despite attempts to reconcile, their relationship was fraught with tension and violence.
On the morning of the incident, Noppadol attempted to restore their relationship, leading to an argument that escalated into gunfire. A concerning message was sent by Phonphiphat to his mother, indicating the violence taking place before he was tragically killed.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, prompting some to alert local authorities. Investigators suggest that jealousy may have driven Noppadol to commit these acts upon discovering Khalita’s new relationship.
The police investigation has since uncovered drug paraphernalia in Noppadol’s vehicle, as his family made arrangements to return his remains for religious rites later that day.
