Stripe has announced a strategic partnership with CLEAR, an identity verification platform used by over 30 million customers, to enhance its billing and payment infrastructure. As of March 24, 2025, CLEAR has transitioned its online and in-person payment processing to Stripe, utilizing a comprehensive suite of tools including Stripe Billing, Stripe Terminal, and Stripe Radar.
CLEAR, known for its innovative CLEAR Plus membership that uses biometric technology to simplify airport identity verification, is expanding its services into healthcare and financial sectors. With Stripe managing payment processing, CLEAR aims to deliver a seamless experience for customer transactions.

With the implementation of Stripe Billing, CLEAR can now efficiently manage millions of customer subscriptions through a flexible and modern billing system, facilitating various payment methods and digital wallets to enhance convenience and conversion rates.
Additionally, CLEAR has rolled out new offerings powered by Stripe, allowing non-members to purchase a QR code for expedited verification at airport security through the new CLEAR Mobile option. Stripe is also responsible for processing in-app enrollments for CLEAR Plus, streamlining the sign-up process for new customers.
For in-person transactions, CLEAR employs Stripe Terminal at its new facial recognition pods introduced at airports in November 2024. Stripe Radar enhances security measures by combating fraud and reducing false declines during the checkout process.
Stripe’s robust payment solutions, including card account updates and network tokenization, assist CLEAR in maintaining a consistent revenue flow, minimizing churn from credit card changes, and boosting authorization rates.
With this partnership, Stripe now serves as the exclusive payment processor for CLEAR, providing a comprehensive infrastructure for both one-time and recurring transactions, aimed at improving operational efficiency and enriching the user experience for CLEAR’s expanding customer base.
