President Bola Tinubu is currently in discussions with Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. Onlookers noted Akpabio’s motorcade outside the residence on Wednesday evening, while other unidentified vehicles were seen entering the Villa, as the area remains inaccessible to journalists.
This meeting follows a critical Senate session where intelligence chiefs were summoned to address serious allegations made by U.S. Congressman Perry Scott, claiming that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been financially supporting terrorist organizations, including Boko Haram.
The Senate’s decision came after Senator Mohammed Ndume raised an Order of Urgent National Security under Order 41. During the session, Akpabio emphasized that Nigeria would not permit USAID to operate within its borders if the allegations are proven true. He further stated the necessity for Nigeria to thoroughly investigate the claims to determine their validity.
