The Tamil Nadu government has officially promoted five IAS officers from the 2001 batch to the prestigious grade of Principal Secretary.
The promoted officials include T.N. Venkatesh, currently serving as the Commissioner for Backward Classes Welfare; P. Umanath, Secretary I to the Chief Minister; Rajendra Ratnoo, who will continue his duties as Executive Director at the National Institute of Disaster Management in New Delhi; R. Lalvena, Commissioner for Food Safety and Drug Administration; and R. Kirlosh Kumar, Secretary to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, Chennai. This decision was announced in an official press release from the government.
