Originally released during the ’90s renaissance of teen-slasher films, I Know What You Did Last Summer follows four teenagers who, after a tragic accident, confront a malevolent fisherman aware of their secret. The film starred notable actors Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe, achieving significant box office success.
In addition to the Steelbook Edition, a standard Blu-ray version of the film is also available for $25, featuring many of the same special features.
The original film has spawned a sequel in 1998, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and a direct-to-DVD follow-up in 2006, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. Furthermore, a satirical take on the genre was presented in the comedy Scary Movie, and a recent eight-episode TV adaptation of the original story was released in 2021.
Mark your calendars for the reboot, which is scheduled to premiere on July 18. Although it shares the same title as the original, this upcoming film serves as a direct sequel to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
