Zach Bryan will not be in contention for the 2025 Grammy Awards as he has opted not to submit his music for consideration. The country artist has expressed discomfort with the competitive nature of awards shows, leading to his decision to boycott the Grammys. Voting for the 2025 Grammy Awards commenced on October 4.
By excluding himself from the nomination process, Bryan aligns with other prominent artists who have previously chosen to step back from the Grammys. Notable figures like Drake and The Weeknd have also boycotted the awards, citing similar sentiments. In recent years, several musicians, including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Frank Ocean, have refrained from submitting their music for Grammy recognition.
Despite not entering the race this year, Bryan has a strong portfolio of work that could have qualified for consideration. His September 2023 EP, Boys of Faith, which features collaborations with Bon Iver and Noah Kahan, enjoyed significant success, remaining on the Billboard 200 for 17 weeks and peaking at No. 8. The EP’s music video for the track “Nine Ball” also gained attention with a guest appearance from Matthew McConaughey. Additionally, his July album, The Great American Bar Scene, reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with the hit single “Pink Skies” climbing to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Bryan’s accolades include four Grammy nominations, with a notable win for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for his duet “I Remember Everything” with Kacey Musgraves earlier this year.
