Pavement made a nostalgic return on last night’s episode of a popular late-night talk show, performing their beloved track “Harness Your Hopes” at the iconic Ed Sullivan Theater. This performance coincides with the limited theatrical release of a new film that blends biographical and mockumentary elements about the band. The film’s soundtrack is set to be released alongside its nationwide cinema debut on May 30, featuring a diverse mix of rehearsal and concert recordings from their recent reunion tour.
The soundtrack showcases an exciting array of content, including dialogue snippets and cast recordings from a jukebox musical inspired by the band’s work. A highlight is a fresh cover of Jim Pepper’s “Witchitai-To,” which promises to add new dimensions to the band’s legacy.
