Caroline Polachek delivered a mesmerizing performance at the renowned Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris on October 18. Set against the backdrop of Claude Monet’s iconic Water Lilies, she captivated the audience with her rendition of “True Love Waits,” a poignant track from Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool.
Polachek expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to perform a special set of songs at the museum, coinciding with the Art Basel Paris 2024 exhibition featuring the Heinz Berggruen collection. She shared her excitement about experiencing the artworks in person for the first time, noting the emotional impact of singing in such an inspiring location.
Reflecting on the theme of her performance, she mentioned, “‘True Love Waits,’ much like the Water Lilies, has undergone decades of interpretations, shaped by time, loss, and perseverance.”
Caroline Polachek’s latest studio album, Desire, I Want to Turn Into You, released in February 2023, has been recognized as one of the top albums of the decade, ranking at No. 12 in a celebrated list of “The 100 Best Albums of the 2020s So Far.”
