Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, departed from Hanoi on the morning of September 30 for a series of state visits to Mongolia and Ireland, and to attend the 19th Francophonie Summit before concluding with an official visit to France from September 30 to October 7. These visits are made at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Irish President Michael D. Higgins, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The delegation features prominent figures, including Bui Thi Minh Hoai, member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Party’s Commission for External Relations; and Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister, among others.
These state visits underscore Vietnam’s commitment to an independent, self-reliant foreign policy that emphasizes multilateralism, diversification of international relations, and proactive global integration. Additionally, the visits highlight the significance the Vietnamese leadership places on nurturing traditional ties with Mongolia and advancing cooperative frameworks that align with the evolving dynamics and mutual interests of the nations involved.
