Vampire Weekend Thrills Fans with Two Concerts at Madison Square Garden
Vampire Weekend electrified audiences at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden this past weekend as part of their ongoing tour for their latest album, Only God Was Above Us. The first show took place on October 5 and featured special guests Mark Ronson and the Billy Joel tribute band, Turnstiles.
Not to be outdone by their openers, Vampire Weekend paid homage to Billy Joel by performing “Scenes From an Italian Restaurant,” which included a theatrical onstage dining scene. The performance was a nod to the legendary musician, who famously held a concert residency at Madison Square Garden from 2014 to 2024, culminating in his 150th show at the venue on July 25, 2024. Joel’s first performance at the arena dates back to December 14, 1978.
These concerts mark a significant highlight in New York’s vibrant music scene, drawing fans together for an unforgettable night of live music and nostalgia.
