In a shocking incident in Vadodara, Gujarat, a 20-year-old law student has been arrested after allegedly running his car into five people, resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to others. CCTV footage has emerged, capturing the moments leading up to the tragic accident. The video reveals the accused, identified as Rakshit Chaurasiya, socializing with friends before the incident, showcasing the moments before he got behind the wheel of the car involved.
The video shows Rakshit arriving on a scooter with a friend and engaging in conversation outside a residence. Rakshit can be seen holding a bottle, the contents of which remain unclear. Another clip shows the black sedan used in the accident parking near the scene.
After spending approximately 45 minutes at the friend’s house, Rakshit and his friend Pranshu switched roles, with Rakshit taking over as the driver just before leaving.
On Friday, as Rakshit drove at high speed, the car collided with multiple two-wheelers, resulting in immediate tragedy for one woman and injuries to four others. Eyewitnesses reported that Rakshit appeared intoxicated, making alarming statements before exiting the vehicle.
Locals intervened, detaining Rakshit until law enforcement arrived. Both he and Pranshu were taken into custody; however, Rakshit has denied any wrongdoing, stating he was not under the influence and claiming the vehicle was only traveling at 50 km/h.
This incident follows a previous altercation in February, where Rakshit was reportedly involved in a drunken brawl with friends and was subsequently handed over to police. The investigation into this latest collision continues as authorities gather more evidence.
