The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that the registration period for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not be extended beyond March 8, 2025.
In an official statement released in Abuja, the board’s spokesperson emphasized that the registration, which began on February 3, will adhere to the previously announced deadline.
“This deadline has been extensively communicated across various platforms and is prominently featured in the official calendar for the 2025 UTME,” the spokesperson stated.
It was highlighted that prompt registration is essential, especially in light of a recent decrease in the number of candidates enrolling for the examination.
JAMB has reported that more than 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, reflecting the board’s expectations for this examination cycle.
“It’s crucial to understand that the examination calendar is fixed, with numerous subsequent activities scheduled, such as the examination itself, results processing, and the admissions exercise. These timelines are aligned with other agencies that rely on the completion of our processes. Any extension of the registration period could disrupt plans not only for JAMB but also for our partners,” the spokesperson explained.
Candidates are urged to finalize their registration as soon as possible to meet the March 8 deadline for the 2025 UTME.
