WASHINGTON, USA – The United States Trade Representative has presented the 2025 Trade Policy Agenda, the 2024 Annual Report, and the World Trade Organization at Thirty report to Congress, outlining a comprehensive strategy for addressing the nation’s economic and national security challenges.
The trade agenda reflects the administration’s commitment to rebalancing trade in alignment with President Trump’s America First Trade Policy. It highlights the efforts necessary to tackle the challenges facing the U.S. and underscores the administration’s goals for American workers and businesses.
The 2024 Annual Report provides an overview of the Office of the USTR’s activities over the past year, while the WTO at 30 report evaluates U.S. interests within the WTO context, focusing on the institution’s challenges and the imperative for reform.
In a statement, the Trade Representative emphasized, “The United States is confronting unprecedented economic and national security challenges. The Trade Agenda delineates a clear vision to prioritize American interests in trade. Immediate action is required to ensure America’s competitive position in the global market.”
Background
The submission of the President’s Trade Policy Agenda and Annual Report to Congress is mandated annually by March 1. These documents are prepared in accordance with the guidelines established under the Trade Act of 1974, as amended. Additionally, the USTR is obligated to deliver a comprehensive report to Congress every five years evaluating the WTO, as stipulated by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act of 1994.
