Exciting Update on Spinal Tap II Release Date
The highly anticipated sequel, Spinal Tap II, to the iconic 1984 film This Is Spinal Tap, has an official release date. Originally slated for March 2024, the release has been rescheduled to Friday, September 12, 2025, due to the Hollywood strikes in 2023.
The U.S. distribution will be managed by Bleecker Street. Director Rob Reiner, who reprises his role as Martin “Marty” Di Bergi, expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with the team at Bleecker Street, stating, “So happy to be working with the folks at Bleecker Street who are passionate about keeping Tap’s legacy alive and happy to give Marty DiBergi another shot at relevancy.”
Original cast members Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer will return as the fictional band members David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls, respectively. The film is also set to feature notable appearances by music legends such as Paul McCartney and Elton John, promising an exciting addition to the beloved franchise.
