Before the highly anticipated Season 2 finale of House of the Dragon, HBO has unveiled the first look at its upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series is already in production, with seven exciting new cast members signed on for the inaugural season.
Edward Ashley, known for his role in Masters of the Air, will portray Ser Steffon Fossoway. Joining him are Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer, Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate, Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway, and Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion. Henry Ashton, who recently appeared in a popular Netflix series, will take on the role of Daeron Targaryen—distinct from the character of the same name in House of the Dragon, as the timelines of the two shows are set nearly a century apart.
This new series is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, which are situated approximately 100 years before the events of the Song of Ice and Fire novels that inspired Game of Thrones. The cast will also feature Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall, with Dexter Sol Ansell playing Egg, Duncan’s squire who is secretly related to the Targaryen lineage.
The new series is co-created by George R.R. Martin and Ira Park for HBO. The six-episode first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is expected to premiere in 2025, generating buzz among fans of the franchise.
